An Evaluation of the World Bank’s Country Policy and Institutional Assessment (CPIA)

This is the IEG evaluation of the World Bank’s Country Policy and Institutional Assessment (CPIA). The study assesses the conduciveness of a country’s policy and institutional framework to poverty reduction, sustainable growth, and the effective use of development assistance. Unlike previous versions posted on the IFI Watch’s web site, this document includes main report (minor errors edited), the Management Response and Management Action Record, a Summary Statement of the Chairperson of the Committee on Development Effectiveness (CODE), and the statement from the evaluation's external Advisory Panel.
